Client Success Stories: Healthy Kids!

photo

A client sent this photo recently of her daughter eating a kale and bean sprout salad.  Together we are working on creating healthier meals for herself and in turn, for her family as well.  Healthy eating is tasty and contaigous. My client swore up & down her children would not go for greens; I suggested she simply put them out on the table along with the rest of the meal. This way, her children would begin to familiarize themselves with new foods and associate them as part of dinner  (or lunch, breakfast, etc.) time. And, voila! Please note: this did not happen overnight, but we did get there! What new food can you begin introducing to your friends or family today?

Client Success Stories: Juicing!

Juicing

Here’s a photo sent to me by one of my lovely clients.  One of her goals was to incorporate more fruits & veggies into her diet.  She had wanted to begin juicing but was slightly intimated by her juicer. Understandably so! One look at it and you think, “What a mess to clean up!”, but seriously it takes under 5 minutes to clean and the results are well worth it. She began with juicing carrots and apple (a tasty and sweet drink for beginners) and has graduated to adding beets to the mix. Great work!

Client Success Stories: Going Veg

My beautiful client Laura shared this photo with me and I want to share it with all of you!  She’s transitioning to become a vegetarian and has been concoting delicious recipes for her and her family. Who says being a vegetarian is boring? Here we have a lovely Mediterranean Chickpea dish (which I tasted yesterday- should have stolen the container while I had the chance), Tofu & Veggie skewers and quinoa. Mmmmm! I love hearing stories of someone making a change towards health in their life and the ripple effects it has on their loved ones. Next question: when is Laura inviting me to dinner?

Client Success Stories: Time to Eat

dinner

Here is a picture sent to me by one of my clients. She is working to organize more sit-down family dinners in her household. Each member contributes to the process and there is no TV allowed. Aren’t they cute?

Setting aside time for meals is important for everyone, regardless of whether you have three kids, no kids, a partner, roomates or live alone. Taking time to eat and enjoy your food connects you to the experience, and allows your brain and digestive system to work in harmony. How often do you find yourself eating in front of the TV, computer, on the way to work/school, standing up, etc.? Life is busy, but the rewards you reap (both emotional and physical) from making time for your meals is priceless. Remember to give thanks, too!
